MIRAS MAJOR ACTIVITIES
MIRAS Welcome Picnic
Our annual welcome picnic with BBQ, fun games and activities. We will welcome new members of our community and enjoy the day with friends and family.
Kazakh Cuisine Day
Traditional Kazakh cuisine will be showcased with presentations about its history and cookery. Kids will have hands on experience making Qurt, Bauyrsaq etc. Everyone will get to taste and enjoy the Dastarqan.
Kazakh Music Day
Kids will learn and practice singing Kazakh music. We will get to enjoy their musical performance at our Independence day and Nauryz events.
Independence Day Celebration: December 16th, 2021
We will celebrate the 30th independence day of Kazakhstan. It will be a family friendly event with food and fun-filled activities.
Kazakh Dance Day
Kids will learn and practice Kazakh dance. They will perform their dance at our Nauryz event. Parents and friends can also participate.
Kazakh Arts & Crafts Day
Kazakh traditional arts and crafts will be displayed and explained. Kids will have hands on experience knitting Tus Kiyiz or making Qamshy, as well as learning to assemble Kiyiz Ui.
MIRAS Nauryz Celebration: March 20, 2022
We will celebrate Nauryz and enjoy delicious national food, music and performance, fun games and activities. We will have our traditional costume competition, with surprise grand prizes.
Kazakh Traditional Games Day
Kids will learn and play Kazakh traditional games, including but not limited to Asyq, Arqan tartu, 9 qumalaq etc.
MIRAS Spring Kazakh Picnic
We will have our annual outdoor spring picnic. There will be barbeque, food and fun activities and games for everyone.
